EXPERIENCE You'll hear the band crank up with some good, upbeat tunes and you'll know the service is starting! You might hear some familiar songs that make a point. One of the pastors will give a short message from the Bible that relates to your life. It'll be in a language you can understand and whether you're a curious seeker or a commited Christian, you'll be able to apply truth to your life! And the whole service is only about an hour so your Sunday has just begun! We'll provide the passage from God's Word, message notes in print and on the big screen, and complimentary Bibles for those how don't own a modern translation. Expect to laugh! And don't worry: we won't make you sign, say or give anything!

Women of the Bible- A vivid, beautiful, and encouraging picture of the faithful women who have gone before us.

Look at the women in Scripture and you will see more than just some women who lived thousands of years ago. You will see yourself. As you study their stories and immerse yourself in their lives, you'll see more and more places where your life intersects with theirs. Each timeless biblical story mirrors the challenges and changes today's women face. Through understanding these women's lives you discover the God behind their stories - and yours.

This will be a 6 week study. This study is lead by Dawn Axene and Karen Lyon

Dear Parent,
USkids is where kids grow! We value your trust and strive to work together with you to make our USkids program to be the best hour of your child's week!

We know how much you love them and we're anxious for them to know how much God loves them, too! At USkids we work to create an atmosphere where kids can sense that love. It starts with our great staff and volunteers (all pre-screened) who personally care for and get to know your children each week. Through age-appropriate stories, crafts and games we focus on trusting Jesus and making Him your best friend. We hope to build a strong spiritual foundation that will last their whole lives—not just on Sundays!

We aim to be :

A safe place:
We provide a safe and secure environment for all.
Focused on the child:
We teach the Bible in age appropriate ways.
Creative:
We design our program so that it engages
today's kids in a language they understand.
Relevant:
We want kids to be able to apply the Bible to
their life now. We ask "So what? Now what?"
Relational:
We want to know your child personally!
Fun:
We want kids to drag their parents to church!

We look forward to having your kids each week!
And we'd love for you to come join our team of
volunteers!! If you have any questions or concerns,
please don't hesitate to contact me or one of our
children's staff.

What others are saying about joining a small group: - GROUPS

“I know that in the past I was not willing to go to a Bible study just because I was not sure what to expect. Little did I know that it is an great way to meet people and build great relationships... it has been a wonderful experience!” —Michele

”I joined a women’s group for the first time and WOW has it helped me grow. It’s nice to be able to read the Bible but more importantly to discuss it with a great group of gals ... We not only discuss the Bible, we make new friends that have the same strong belief in faith. I feel much more confident in my faith and enjoy reading the Bible because I now understand it so much more!”
—Raejean

“We felt right at home. I know that if the need arises, the other members of the group will be praying for me and my family.” —Van

“We were new to the church, new to the area and needed friends. We have grown spiritually and watched others do the same. It is exciting to see how a single group can help so many people with so many different needs.” —David

"It’s wonderful to be part of a group and know that there’s other women out there that go through the same struggles and challenges...It’s a blessing to know you have a group of friends that you can share your life’s struggles with and pray about them together. It has helped me look at my marriage in a whole new different way. I look forward to our group meetings! I get a spiritual re- boost! When I attend it’s an awsome feeling!” —Liz

“It has been wonderful having open discussions with other Christian men about what really matters in life, God, family and friends. I can honestly say I am becoming a better father, husband and Christian because of a small group. “ —Andy

“My groups have provided a great deal of support during times of great need for me, connected me to people I might not have otherwise met, fostered some close relationships and made me feel even more at home at Chorus.” —Andi

"Joining a home group has been one of the best experiences in my life. My group has taken me by the hand and patiently walked me through the understanding of what it means to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. I was finally able to say it out loud last summer while the group sat around my backyard, and I feel like a new person. On a personal level, I have made some of the greatest friends I will every have. I know that this group cares for me and my family, and they have helped me get through several crises." —Diane

Opportunties to Serve - YOUR SONG

Here's Pastor Dave's Top Opportunities to Serve at Chorus! There are many more opportunities...let us know what you're interested in!

Dave's Top Pick
GREETER

From Pastor Dave:
"Greeters are one of my Top Picks because they are so important at Chorus...and to me! I'll tell you why: first off, Greeters are sometimes the first impression someone gets when they come to Chorus. They represent Chorus to newcomers. Greeters set the tone of a welcoming, friendly, inclusive community eager to make you one of the family. Smiling and saying "Good Morning", helping parents find their kid's classes, answering questions—Greeters help smooth out the nervousness that often accompanies coming to a new place. Secondly, Greeters make it easier for others, like me, to spend a little extra time with someone who needs it, knowing that we aren't missing greeting someone who just passed us by. Thanks to our wonderful team of Greeters! I would love to see even 100% more greeters mingling on Sunday mornings!"

DESCRIPTION: Whether you’re new to Chorus or you’ve been with us for a while, greeting is for anyone that enjoys making others feel relaxed and welcome. By offering a smile and a friendly “Good Morning” you’ve almost completed your training. Greeting is just one of the many ways that we can make people feel cared for and comfortable in a new environment. From saying “Good Morning” at the curb to offering a program as people enter the door, your part in the Welcoming Team makes all the difference. If you're interested inserving on a rotating basis as a Greeter, please contact Pastor John Cappelen at: jc@jcpriority.org

It was very refreshing to come to a church that is so low key, fun and comfortable and still recieve a good msg. Thank you for welcoming my family as the newcommers. We look forward to getting more involved! " —Ron & Sharon

"The way Dave picks a topic and reads it, explains it, and how it applies to our lives, is the first time I feel like I understood what is being said. It feels so great, like a door opening for me." —Valerie

"It has been many many years since I have attended church and I do not remember church being this inspiring and enjoyable and so casual too."— Robert

"Thank you for welcoming us, we really enjoy Chorus. We just moved here about 4 months ago and have been trying to find a great church that we feel comfortable with and where we feel fed by God. Going to and from San Diego to see my family on the weekends made that all difficult, but I am happy to say that I think we have found the church we are looking for with you all. " —Mike

"The members of Chorus are wonderful, the service was terrific from its message to the music to the involvement and the fellowship afterward was great. We were both excited to see the number of small groups and the effort made to keep people tuned in to the Lord. Joshua (3 years old) also really enjoyed his “Church School”. —John

A LOT OF FUN! We’ll be back for sure." -Todd

"I really enjoyed Sunday... I can't compare you to anything because my husband and I have never been to church before. I was very nervous to come at first when we were invited but I can honestly say that I have felt welcome each time we have come. It is very relaxed and fun...We have decided to keep coming. It surprised me how much my husband has enjoyed the services. I can tell you that he is one of the most unlikeliest of people to actually go to church much less enjoy it and commit to it."—Patty

"We have been to Chorus for the last few months and love it very much! We have been to other churches and during the message I can't relate. I find myself thinking of other things. But at Chorus it does not happen to me!!!!" —Leann

"I've always wanted to find a church I can call my own! I'm so excited and have already told several of my friends about it!" —Christy

Dave Reynolds graduated from Cal State, Long Beach with a B.A. in Music and a Masters Degree (M.Div) from Biola University/Talbot Seminary. Dave has been playing in bands since high school and enjoys using music to move people. Although he never planned on growing up to be a pastor, after college the Reynolds started ShoreLife Church in Huntington Beach, CA in 1991 where they used a casual style and classic rock to reach out to Surf City . ShoreLife in turn, helped start several other churches. In 1998 the Reynolds moved to the Pacific Northwest to launch Northwest Church Planting (www.churchplanter.com) out of New Heights Church in Vancouver, WA. In the Spring of 2003, the Reynolds relocated back to Southern California to start Chorus Church. Dave's vision for Chorus was a place where everyone has a part, everyone is "in" like in the chorus of a song. People appreciate that Dave's messages from the Bible are easy to understand, filled with personal stories, humor (and often lyrics) and you always come away feeling hopeful. Dave and Elena have been married 21 years and have three sons- Daniel, Grant, and Dean (who are all enrolled in "dad's school of rock"). Dave enjoys hiking, skiing, golf, Starbucks and rockin' with his kids.

FAVORITE BANDS: Beatles and Eagles (the Beagles?). Great songs. Great vocals. Great players.
FAVORITE FOOD: Oh, so many. Here's one: Outback Style Prime Rib with horseradish sauce.
PERFECT DAY: Starts with good coffee, heads outdoors, gets me tired, and ends with a great meal. (see above).
GOD IS: That about says it all.

Do you have to be able to sing? - ABOUT CHORUS

WHY CHORUS?
What ever possessed us to name the church Chorus? No, we don't do choirs (not that there's anything wrong with choirs....) and you don't have to be able to sing to come to Chorus. We named the church Chorus because in a band that's the part in the song where everyone's "in", where everyone has a part. We want Chorus to be a place where everyone finds their place to contribute to the whole song/church. Church isn't suppose to be a spectator sport—although we get that if you're new, you just want to sit in the back for a while—the Church is a community, a family, a Body, where every part matters. The band Switchfoot says it well: "We were meant to live for so much more." We want to be a place that helps each person become all that God intends. And being fans of classic rock and music in general, naming the church Chorus gave us something fun to work with!

No Title - ABOUT CHORUS

WHAT'S CHORUS ALL ABOUT?
Chorus Church is about connection. WITH GOD We're all about helping people connect with God and others through a relationship with Jesus. We want to be a bridge (there's that song metaphor again) that helps people better understand how God feels about them (He's totally for you) and what He has done for them (died in your place) so they can connect with Him. So Chorus is a safe place to explore a meaningful, personal relationship with God through moving music, relevant messages from the Bible, laughter, groups and more. We understand that not everyone is in the same place in their spiritual journey. Whether you’re a curious seeker still wondering if God really does exist, or a committed follower of Christ, or somewhere in between—Chorus is here to help you take your next step at your own speed.
WITH OTHERS At Chorus you can also develop lasting friendships with people who are real, authentic and down-to-earth. We don't pretend to be perfect or have all the answers. But we do know that together we're stronger and together we sharpen each other. Spiritual growth and health really happens in community. That's how God designed it. So we need each other. But building meaningful relationships with others can be intimating so we try to make it easy with casual gatherings, groups and opportunities where you'll meet people like yourself. Single, married, divorced, students, single mothers and dads, couples, students, senior citizens, kids...Chorus is a place for real friendships.

IN OUR COMMUNITY We believe in our town and we want to give back to our community. We want to become known as a church that "gives itself away" as we serve people in our community with no strings attached. Currently we are partners with Kids Hope USA were we provided mentors to La Vorgna Elementary students on a weekly basis. We also participant in the Adopt-a-Highway program and we're proud to keep our stretch of Winchester Road clean for our community. This summer Chorus will also be serving in a Mexican orphanage, sending 22 students and adults there to serve for a week. And of course, that's just a start of what we want to do to make a difference outside the walls of our church. There are many fine churches in the Temecula Valley. If you don't already have a church home, we invite you to come and experience Chorus on any Sunday. We'll save you a seat and a hot cup of coffee.

Dave's Top Pick:
ROAD CREW

From Pastor Dave:
"Roadies: who could live without them!? Road Crew is a Top Pick because without the Road Crew there is no Sunday Chorus experience! These guys and girls come early or stay late and get the job done cheerfully and professionally. They are truly the unseen heroes and the backstage warriors who we couldn't do without. Because of the Road Crew everyone experiences a distraction free, safe, inspirational atmosphere. It's a great way to make friends while working together as a team."

DESCRIPTION: Did you ever wonder how we turn a school into a “church” each week? Wonder no more— it’s called Road Crew. Come early, grab your coffee and be a part of the transformation. It begins as the chairs, sound system, information tables, kid’s supplies, and the whole “church” is unloaded out of boxes and storage, set up and ready for our guests to arrive. After service, we systematically pack and store it all. Whether you’re an early riser and can help unpack and set-up or rather sleep in and can help as it all goes back in it’s boxes, Road Crew is the backbone making Chorus happen each week. Come help, laugh, connect, and make a few new friends as you hang with the best “roadies” in town. Both men and women and older students welcome!. If you're interested inserving on a rotating basis as a Roadie, please contact Jeannette Jones at 795-8226 or email Jeannette.

Dave's Top Pick:
USKIDS TEACHERS AND HELPERS

From Pastor Dave:
"USkids Teachers and Helpers are a Top Pick because they deliver the love of God to our gifts from God: kids! As a parent, I know I want my kids to be in a safe, loving enviornment where they can see that people love them. I want them to love church and come to love God. Not only does being an USkids Teacher or Helper reach kids, but we know that if the kids enjoy themselves, the parents are more apt to come again and grow in their faith. Thanks to everyone who serves in USkids! You are making a big difference in many lives!"

DESCRIPTION:

USkids is where kids grow! We work together to make our USkids program to be the best hour of a child’s week! It starts with our great staff (fingerprinted and background check) and volunteers (all pre-screened) who personally care for and get to know the children each week. Through age-appropriate stories, crafts and games we focus on trusting Jesus and making Him your best friend. We hope to build a strong spiritual foundation that will last their whole lives—not just on Sundays! We’d love for you to come join our team of volunteers!! You don't have to having "teaching" experience—we will train! We also need care givers, helpers, set-up and tear-down help, set designers, athletic coaches, and musicians! If you are interested in how you can volunteer with USkids please contact Sue Bushrow @ 562-900-2424 or e-mail Sue!
